Zelda Mystery of Solarus XD

This is the download page of Zelda Mystery of Solarus XD, our parodic mini-game. The game was released on April 1st, 2011. While it was initially just an April 1st joke, Zelda Mystery of Solarus XD is a real game with two huge dungeons and 5 to 10 hours of playing. But don't expect a game that looks like others: everything is possible here!

As of version 1.3, the game can be played in English. As the instructions manual is not available in English yet, here is a list of the main game commands:

  • Directional keys: Move Link and select options in the different subscreens.
  • Space bar: The action key. The space bar can be used to lift objects, activate switches, read some messages, open doors and chests, etc. The blue icon displays what kind of action can be performed with the space bar.
  • "C" key: Swing your sword; save your game when the game is paused; skip dialogs when possible.
  • "D" key: Pause or resume the game. Use the left and right arrow keys to switch subscreens.
  • "X" & "V" keys: Use items. In the game, set your items to the "X" and "V" icons to use them.
  • F5: Switch the screen resolution.

Whenever you get lost, check the blue icon in the upper-left corner of the screen: it displays what kind of action can be performed by pressing the Space bar. The green icon represents the "C" key. Also note that these commands can be customized and that joypads are supported.

Note: on some systems, you have to download the engine (Solarus) and the data (zsxd) separately.
